Dr. Daniel Freeman (B.Chiro)

Associate Chiropractor

Daniel was born and bred in Rotorua where he led an active lifestyle involved in football, athletics and the occasional other sport in between.

Daniel’s chiropractic journey began with a sporting injury not long before finishing school, which left him struggling to walk and with reoccurring pain. Daniel was referred to a local chiropractor who helped get him back on his feet and while continuing with chiropractic care he also noticed he was better able to perform on the sporting field.

Since finishing high school Daniel has spent time living in Auckland studying at the New Zealand College of Chiropractic, from where he graduated in 2017.

Daniel is excited to be back in the sunny Bay of Plenty and you will see him around town at the Whakatane football club, out for a spot of fishing or in one of the local gyms.

Daniel’s mission is to care for and help people of all ages function and perform at their absolute best so they can get the most out of life.

Dr. Julie Barthelemy (B. Chiro)

Associate Chiropractor

Julie was born in Paris and grew up living in different parts of France, but also in Africa, New Caledonia, and Tahiti following her dad who served in the French Air Force as a Pilot. Seeking to receive the best chiropractic education available in the world, she made the move on her own at the age of 20 from the South of France to New Zealand, to attend the prestigious New Zealand College of Chiropractic.

By receiving regular chiropractic care herself, Julie leads an active lifestyle despite a severe spine injury from horse riding. When she is not at the practice, she is making the most of the beautiful scenery that New Zealand has to offer on a horseback, doing yoga or is having a hit at the tennis court.

Julie became a chiropractor so she could serve her purpose to help people. She is passionate about how the relationship between the spine and the nervous system affects the preservation and restoration of health.

Newly arrived in Whakatane, Julie is absolutely thrilled to be part of the Eastern Bay Chiropractic team and is honored to look after our local community through chiropractic care.

Dr Courtney Slater (B. Chiro)

Associate Chiropractor

Courtney was born and raised in Auckland, New Zealand. Growing up she was highly active playing hockey, netball and tennis.

Courtney first discovered the power of chiropractic at 10 years old when she experienced her first migraine. These would stop her from participating in her sporting activities, so she found help and relief through chiropractic care. Regular care became the normal for her and her family, not only to keep the migraines at bay but to keep her healthy and functioning at her best.

It wasn’t until Courtney’s older brother, Ross, graduated as a chiropractor did she consider this path for herself and is now a proud graduate of The New Zealand College of Chiropractic. She is happy she did and has never looked back. She is excited to join the Eastern Bay Chiropractic team and to look after her new Bay community.

Courtney has had experience working in Singapore, Auckland and previously in The Bay of Plenty. In 2019, she covered for Dr. Ben in both Whakatane and Opotiki. Enjoying the community and great working atmosphere at EBC, it was an easy choice to come back as a permanent associate.

When Courtney isn’t working she enjoys yoga, travel, spending time with loved ones and making a mess in the kitchen.

Courtney is passionate about helping as many people as possible to live their life to the fullest and reach their goals.

Lisa Harris

Office Manager

Lisa was born in Reporoa and moved to Te Puke with her dairy farming family when she was 10.

After completing a psychology degree, Lisa and her husband settled into life in rural Tauranga. They were there for just over 8 years when they decided they and their 3 children needed a change of pace. The family moved to Edgecumbe where Lisa’s husband has started an IT business and she got involved in the women's fitness industry, before coming on board with the team at Eastern Bay Chiropractic.

Chiropractic care became important for Lisa in Tauranga when she got consistent headaches, so when she moved to Edgecumbe she started seeing Dr. Anna for not only headaches but also running injuries and other issues that come from being a busy mum.

Lisa is excited to be part of the EBC team and to have the chance to use her crazy love of numbers, spreadsheets and sticky notes while still fulfilling her love of being surrounded by people.
